China astrology 2027: the PRC chart against the year's transit calendar

The canonical PRC 1949 chart carries a Capricorn ascendant with the Moon and Jupiter in the first house. In 2027 Saturn crosses the chart's third-fourth house boundary on 23 May, an exalted Jupiter sits on the seventh house over natal Mars from February to June, the Rahu-Ketu axis holds the chart's own first-seventh axis all year and the 2 August total solar eclipse falls in Ashlesha, natal Mars's nakshatra. The dates are computed facts. What they mean for outcomes is chart-conditional and carries stated limits.

This is a country-chart calendar page: the shared 2027 transit backbone from the mundane astrology 2027 read, mapped house by house onto the People's Republic of China's foundation chart. It is an explainer, not a forecast. Tempora's dated China call sits on the 2028 calendar, on the September 2028 window, and everything scored lives on the tracker. What this page adds is the mapping layer: which 2027 dates touch which PRC houses, and what the framework does and does not license you to conclude from that.

On the canonical PRC 1949 chart (Capricorn ascendant, True Pushya Paksha), 2027 concentrates on two axes. Saturn works the third-fourth house boundary: Pisces until 23 May, Aries from 23 May to 4 November, Pisces again to close the year. Jupiter, exalted in Cancer, transits the seventh house over natal Mars from 3 February to 19 June, then moves through the eighth house into Virgo debilitation on 18 November, entering the ninth-house cluster of Sun, Mercury and Ketu. The nodal axis sits on the chart's own first-seventh axis all year, and the 2 August total solar eclipse falls in the seventh house in natal Mars's nakshatra. These are calendar facts; the outcomes are not.

The chart: PRC 1949, stated convention

Every claim on this page runs against one chart, the canonical foundation chart of the People's Republic of China: 1 October 1949, 15:01 China Standard Time, Beijing, the Mao proclamation timing. This is the same chart used across the Tempora corpus, including the China September 2028 forward call, and the conventions are identical: sidereal zodiac under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa by PVRN Rao, whole-sign houses from the ascendant, positions computed with Swiss Ephemeris.

The lagna computation was re-verified against Tempora's engine for this page: ascendant Capricorn 9.53 degrees, Uttara Ashadha nakshatra pada 4. The natal skeleton that matters for 2027: the Moon at Capricorn 11.04 degrees in Shravana pada 1 and Jupiter at Capricorn 0.57 degrees, both in the first house; Mars at Cancer 22.86 degrees in Ashlesha pada 2 in the seventh; Saturn at Leo 21.12 in the eighth; the Sun at Virgo 15.75, Mercury at Virgo 21.16 and Ketu at Virgo 24.95, a three-point cluster in the ninth; Venus at Libra 27.41 in the tenth; Rahu at Pisces 24.95 in the third. The method for reading a foundation chart at national scale, including what a house means when the native is a state rather than a person, is set out in how to read a country's birth chart.

Saturn's 2027 path: the third-fourth house boundary

Saturn's 2027 is a boundary year, and on the PRC chart the boundary runs between the third and fourth houses. The full ingress and station calendar is in Saturn transit 2027 dates; the spine is this. Saturn sits in Pisces, the chart's third house, until 23 May 2027, when it makes its first entry into Aries, the fourth house. It stations retrograde in Aries on 10 August 2027, retreats across the boundary back into Pisces on 4 November 2027, stations direct in Pisces on 24 December 2027 and makes its final Aries entry on 11 February 2028. The 2027 Aries window is therefore a first pass, roughly May to November, with the settled transit belonging to 2028 and after.

In mundane convention the third house carries transport, communications, media and neighbouring states; the fourth carries land, housing, agriculture, internal infrastructure and domestic stability, the home conditions of the population. Saturn is debilitated in Aries, and the classical read of the debilitated transit is friction in exactly the areas the occupied house governs: slow-moving structural pressure rather than sudden events. On this chart the depositor of transit Saturn in Aries is natal Mars, which sits in Cancer, its own debilitation sign, in the seventh house. The chart does not supply the clean cancellation that, for comparison, the India 1947 chart's Taurus Mars provides, so the framework reads the PRC's 2027-2030 Saturn-in-Aries band without a mitigating override. That is a structural observation about house emphasis, not a dated event claim.

The honest accounting: Saturn crosses a house boundary on some national chart somewhere every year. The reason this one is worth a calendar entry is the concentration, the same months in which the fourth house takes transit Saturn, the first and seventh houses hold the nodal axis, discussed below. Concentration raises attention, not certainty.

Jupiter's 2027 path: exalted on the trade-partner house, then debilitated on the cluster

Jupiter's 2027 arc, covered transit by transit in Jupiter transit 2027, touches three PRC houses. Jupiter re-enters Cancer retrograde on 3 February 2027, stations direct there on 13 April 2027, returns to Leo on 19 June 2027 and enters Virgo on 18 November 2027.

Cancer is Jupiter's exaltation sign, and on the PRC chart it is the seventh house, the house of foreign relations, treaty partners and open counterparts, and it holds natal Mars. So from early February to mid June an exalted benefic transits the chart's external-relations house over its natal Mars. In the classical grammar this is the year's most supported window for negotiation-shaped and agreement-shaped activity: the benefic strengthens the house it occupies, and the seventh is where a state meets others across a table. The 19 June exit from Cancer closes the window; Jupiter's second Leo pass, 19 June to 18 November, runs through the eighth house, the house of external debt, shared resources and other parties's money, over natal Saturn's sign.

The year closes with the opposite signature. On 18 November Jupiter enters Virgo, its debilitation sign, which on this chart is the ninth house holding the Sun, Mercury and Ketu, the chart's densest cluster and the seat of law, courts, long-distance commerce and state ideology in the mundane assignment. A debilitated Jupiter crossing a natal Sun-Mercury conjunction is a weakening transit on the houses those planets rule, and it runs on into 2028, the debilitation-exit year traced in mundane astrology 2028. Base-rate honesty applies in both directions: exalted-Jupiter windows pass without treaties all the time, and debilitated-Jupiter windows pass without institutional strain all the time. The framework marks the windows; it does not guarantee the contents.

The nodal axis and the 2027 eclipses

The Rahu-Ketu axis entered Capricorn-Cancer on 27 December 2026 and holds it for the whole of 2027; the next shift, to Sagittarius-Gemini, comes on 15 July 2028. On the PRC chart this is not a neutral placement: Capricorn-Cancer is the chart's own first-seventh axis. Rahu transits the first house across the natal Moon at Capricorn 11.04 and natal Jupiter at Capricorn 0.57; Ketu transits the seventh across natal Mars at Cancer 22.86. A nodal transit over the natal Moon is one of the heavier-weighted contacts in the framework's grammar, an identity-and-sentiment signature on a national chart, and it runs all year rather than on any single date. The axis mechanics are set out in the Rahu-Ketu transit 2027 read.

Eclipses fall on the nodal axis by definition, so the 2027 eclipses, tabled in full in eclipses 2027, land on signs this chart cares about. Dates and sidereal positions follow Tempora's published 2027 eclipse calendar, computed with Swiss Ephemeris under True Pushya Paksha:

DateTypeSidereal sign · nakshatraPRC house
6 Feb 2027Solar · AnnularCapricorn · Dhanishta1st (Moon, Jupiter)
20 Feb 2027Lunar · PenumbralLeo · Magha8th (natal Saturn's sign)
18 Jul 2027Lunar · PenumbralCapricorn · Uttara Ashadha1st (Moon, Jupiter)
2 Aug 2027Solar · TotalCancer · Ashlesha7th (natal Mars's nakshatra)
17 Aug 2027Lunar · PenumbralAquarius · Dhanishta2nd (treasury)

The 2 August total solar eclipse is the year's heaviest chart-side contact for this chart: it falls in the seventh house, in the same sign and the same nakshatra, Ashlesha, as natal Mars. In the framework's convention an eclipse sensitises the degree band it falls in for roughly six months, raising the weight of later transits across that band; it does not by itself decide outcomes. Two eclipses on the first house, over the Moon-Jupiter pair, and one on the second house of treasury and currency complete the set. The same Capricorn-Cancer axis is doing regional work elsewhere; the Korean peninsula Rahu stellium read follows it on a neighbouring chart, and the Taiwan strait page holds the framework's standing treatment of that flashpoint.

The economy-facing houses, with base rates

For a state, the economy read runs through a specific set of houses. On the PRC chart under whole-sign counting: Aquarius is the second house, treasury and currency; Gemini the sixth, labour and the industrial workforce; Cancer the seventh, foreign trade partners; Virgo the ninth, shipping and long-distance commerce; Libra the tenth, the executive, holding natal Venus; Scorpio the eleventh, national income and exchanges, ruled by the seventh-house Mars.

Mapped to 2027, the load sits on the trade axis rather than the treasury. The seventh house takes the year's strongest benefic transit from February to June, Ketu all year and the total eclipse in August. The manufacturing-and-logistics side of the read runs through the sixth and third houses: the sixth lord Mercury sits natally in the ninth-house cluster that Jupiter's debilitated transit reaches on 18 November, and the third house hosts Saturn for the January-May and November-December stretches. The second house takes one eclipse, on 17 August, and no slow transit.

Here the base rate does the disciplining. Trade negotiations, export swings and industrial-policy announcements happen in China in every calendar year; a framework that marks a trade-flavoured window in a country running persistent trade activity needs better than the annual base rate to claim signal, which is exactly why this page stops at the mapping and the tracker carries anything scored. Tempora's calibration method, lift against a randomised baseline rather than hit-counting, is set out in calibrated lift. No 2027 China economy call is on the tracker as of this page's publication date, and that absence is information: the 2027 mapping did not clear the bar that the September 2028 configuration cleared.

What the framework does not claim

The transit dates above are computed facts and will happen on schedule. Everything else is conditional, and the conditions deserve to be stated as plainly as the dates.

The 2027 calendar for the PRC chart

Transit and station dates are from Tempora's transit fact sheet, computed from Swiss Ephemeris under True Pushya Paksha; eclipse rows follow the published 2027 eclipse calendar. Houses are whole-sign from the Capricorn ascendant.

Frequently asked questions

Which China chart does this page use?

The canonical PRC 1949 chart: 1 October 1949, 15:01 China Standard Time, Beijing, the Mao proclamation timing. Under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa the ascendant is Capricorn at 9.53 degrees in Uttara Ashadha pada 4, verified against Tempora's Swiss Ephemeris engine for this page, and the natal Moon sits at Capricorn 11.04 degrees in Shravana pada 1. The same chart and the same positions are used across the Tempora corpus, including the China September 2028 forward call. Houses are counted whole-sign from the Capricorn ascendant.

What does Saturn do on the China chart in 2027?

Saturn spends 2027 crossing the chart's third-fourth house boundary. It sits in Pisces, the PRC chart's third house, until 23 May 2027, enters Aries, the fourth house, on 23 May, stations retrograde in Aries on 10 August, retreats into Pisces on 4 November and stations direct there on 24 December. The final Aries entry follows on 11 February 2028. The third house carries transport, communications and neighbouring states; the fourth carries land, housing, agriculture and domestic stability. Saturn is debilitated in Aries, so the first Aries window from May to November is the year's structural marker.

What does Jupiter do on the China chart in 2027?

Jupiter re-enters Cancer retrograde on 3 February 2027, turns direct there on 13 April, returns to Leo on 19 June and enters Virgo on 18 November. Cancer is the PRC chart's seventh house and Jupiter's exaltation sign, and it holds natal Mars, so the February to June window puts an exalted benefic on the treaty and trade-partner house. Leo is the eighth house. Virgo is the ninth, where Jupiter is debilitated and where the chart's Sun, Mercury and Ketu sit, so the year closes with a weakened Jupiter crossing the chart's densest cluster.

Which 2027 eclipses matter for the PRC chart?

Five eclipses fall in 2027. The 2 August total solar eclipse in sidereal Cancer at Ashlesha carries the most chart-side weight: it falls in the PRC chart's seventh house, in the same sign and nakshatra as natal Mars at Cancer 22.86 degrees Ashlesha. The 6 February annular solar in Capricorn and the 18 July penumbral lunar in Capricorn both fall in the first house, which holds the natal Moon and Jupiter. The 20 February penumbral lunar in Leo falls in the eighth house, natal Saturn's sign, and the 17 August penumbral lunar in Aquarius falls in the second house of treasury and currency.

Is this a prediction of specific events in China in 2027?

No. This is an explainer and calendar page. The transit and eclipse dates are computed facts; what follows from them on the PRC chart is a set of chart-side windows with stated limitations, not dated event claims. Tempora publishes dated, falsifiable forward calls separately on the tracker, each with a window and a reconciliation condition. The active China call, the September 2028 window, sits on the 2028 calendar, not on 2027. A window on this page without a tracker entry carries no forecast weight.

Which houses carry the economy read on the PRC chart?

Under whole-sign houses from the Capricorn ascendant: Aquarius is the second house of treasury and currency, Gemini the sixth of labour and industrial workforce, Cancer the seventh of foreign trade partners with natal Mars in it, Virgo the ninth of shipping and long-distance commerce with the Sun-Mercury cluster, Libra the tenth of the executive with natal Venus and Scorpio the eleventh of national income and exchanges. In 2027 the load sits on the seventh house, where Jupiter transits from February to June and the 2 August eclipse falls, and the base rate for any single-year window on any chart is that most such windows pass without a headline event.

Transit and station dates are computed from Swiss Ephemeris under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa by PVRN Rao; eclipse dates and sidereal positions follow Tempora's published 2027 eclipse calendar computed on the same basis. The PRC 1949 chart follows the canonical Mao proclamation timing convention. Mundane astrology describes structural-character backdrops and dated transit windows, not guaranteed outcomes; planetary cycle correlations describe tendencies, not certainties.
