The Lab is where a timing signature earns its place. These are experimental calls we publish before we trust them, on dated windows with a fixed check-back. They are not yet calibrated and do not count toward the Tracker hit rate. A signature graduates to the Tracker only after it clears our calibration bar. The ones that do not are withdrawn from scoring and kept on the record for reference.

A signature lands in the Lab when we have a dated, testable read but have not yet earned the right to score it. Each call carries a specific window, a public reference to judge it against and a check-back once the window closes. These are candidates, not verdicts.
A signature graduates to the Tracker only after it clears our calibration bar across enough closed windows to trust it. Until then it stays here, experimental and out of the headline hit rate. Signatures that do not clear the bar are withdrawn from scoring and kept on the record so the trail stays honest.
If a Lab call fails its test, the failure stays public. That is the point of testing in the open.
Why a separate surface. The Tracker carries only calls we stand behind on calibration. The Lab is everything still proving itself. Keeping them apart means the Tracker hit rate reflects trusted signatures and nothing experimental inflates or drags it.
