The rules in this cluster are fixed. The sky they are applied to is not. A muhurta is the intersection of a static rulebook (tithi, vara, nakshatra, lagna, hora) with wherever the planets actually stand on the chosen day, which is why the same rulebook produces a different election calendar every year. The 12 August 2026 solar eclipse. The eclipse falls on the Cancer-Leo cusp. The classical rule for eclipse windows runs consistently through the muhurta literature: finish things in the shadow, start things after. Completion-type actions (closings, repayments, handovers, endings) sit inside the pre-eclipse window without objection; launch-type elections (weddings, incorporations, first steps) are deferred until the eclipse has passed. The loan and mortgage signing rules in this cluster carry the same eclipse-window exclusion in their date filters, and mid August 2026 is the live instance of it.
Saturn's Aries entry, 23 May 2027. Saturn has held Pisces since 20 March 2025. It crosses into Aries on 23 May 2027, retreats into Pisces on 4 November 2027 and re-enters Aries to stay on 11 February 2028, holding the sign until 2030. For start-of-venture elections this is a chapter boundary rather than a day-level filter: a venture launched under Saturn in Pisces and one launched under Saturn in Aries sit inside structurally different long-cycle contexts, whatever the panchanga of the launch day says. The 2-hour lagna rotation. The ascendant sign changes roughly every 2 hours, so the lagna layer of any muhurta is specific to one place and one clock time. The same 10 am slot carries a different rising sign in Mumbai and in London. Add the Moon's 27.3-day circuit of the 27 nakshatras and the practical consequence follows: a muhurta cannot be copied from a generic list. It has to be computed per city and per day, which is what the hora, choghadiya and Rahu Kaal tools in this cluster do. A published "good date" without a place and a time attached has silently dropped the lagna layer of its own method.
