What the Chaturvimsamsa predicts

1. Formal-education attainment

The 4th house of D24 and its lord's condition predict the smoothness of school and college completion. A well-placed 4th lord with benefic aspect indicates degree-completion within expected timelines. A malefic 4th lord or 4th house afflicted by Rahu, Ketu or Saturn indicates interrupted education, degree-completion delays or non-traditional education paths. Mars in D24 4th typically shows technical or vocational education routes rather than pure academic.

2. Subject-domain fit

The 5th house of D24 and the sign and lord of the 5th house indicate the subject domain the native fits. Mercury in D24 5H (or Mercury as 5H lord) reads verbal, analytical, mathematical and detail-work domains: languages, mathematics, engineering, computer science. Reading sequence for a Chaturvimsamsa analysis

1. Confirm birth-time accuracy to within 3 minutes. The D24 is more sensitive than the D9 or D10 because each arc is smaller (1.25 degrees versus 3.33 degrees for D9). Rectification is required before confident D24 reading.
2. Compute D24 lagna and all planetary positions using the parity rule.
3. Read D24 lagna sign and lord for general learning-personality.
4. Read the 4H, 5H, 9H triad in that order for formal-education, subject-fit, higher-learning respectively.
5. Flag any obstacle patterns from malefic occupation of 4H, 5H, 9H or Lagna.
6. Cross-check with D10 Dasamsa for the education-versus-career alignment or misalignment signature.
7. Deliver as vidya-fit diagnosis, not as institution-prescription. Specific-degree or specific-university selections require additional birth-chart-level timing analysis.

Limitations and honest caveats

Birth-time sensitivity. The D24 is more birth-time-sensitive than most other divisionals because each arc is 1.25 degrees. A 3-minute shift in birth time can move the D24 lagna by one sign. Charts with time-of-birth records that only carry hour-level accuracy cannot support confident D24 reading.

Not applicable to non-formal-education contexts. The D24 reads formal, structured, degree-attainment-oriented education. Native cultures with strong oral-tradition or apprenticeship-based learning may find the D24 less informative because the classical scope focuses on the vidya register the texts were written for.

Small sample size. Twenty-four arcs across nine planetary bodies is not a large sample. Reading is directional. Multiple planets pointing at the same domain-signature gives a confident read; a single planet in an isolated arc gives only a weak signal.

The chart does not compel education. The D24 diagnoses fit and attainment potential if the native pursues formal education. It does not force the native to pursue formal education, and a strong D24 with a life choice to skip formal education (entrepreneur, artist, family-business direct-entry) does not read as chart-violation.
