Jupiter in Leo, 2027 to 2028: Two Passes, Not One

Jupiter leaves exalted Cancer on 19 June 2027 and enters sidereal Leo. Most pages will print that as a single year long transit. The ephemeris says otherwise: Jupiter runs Leo from 19 June to 18 November 2027, slips into Virgo, retrogrades back into Leo on 8 March 2028, and finally leaves for Virgo on 17 July 2028. Anyone reading Leo results as one continuous stretch is reading a calendar that does not exist.
The dates above are computed on the Swiss Ephemeris under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa at daily resolution refined to the hour, the same engine that produces every transit date on this site. The split run matters practically: a window that opens in the first Leo pass closes in November 2027, not in mid 2028, and planning against the wrong pass is the most common error a single-line transit calendar produces.

What actually changes on 19 June 2027
Cancer is Jupiter's exaltation sign and Leo is a friendly one, ruled by the Sun. The classical reading is a step down from peak dignity to solid dignity, from a benefic at maximum strength to a benefic operating normally. The month before it, on 23 May 2027, Saturn enters Aries. Two of the three slow planets change sign within twenty seven days of each other, which is why mid 2027 reads as a hinge on nearly every national and market chart this site tracks, and why several open tracker calls carry horizons that end near these dates rather than at arbitrary month ends.

The class column is the weighting. Trikona houses take the most benefit from a benefic. Kendra houses take strength. Upachaya houses improve under pressure and reward time. Dusthana houses, the sixth, eighth and twelfth, convert a benefic into effort and outflow before they convert it into gain, so an ascendant whose Leo house falls there should read this transit as work rather than as a gift.
The handover matters as much as the arrival. Two things change together in June 2027: the house in the fifth column loses a support it has had since May 2026, and the house in the second column gains one. Anything running easily in that first house since mid 2026 is running on a condition with an end date.
Jupiter arrives at ordinary strength. Cancer is exaltation and Leo is merely friendly, so the benefic that has been at maximum drops to normal. Leo is ruled by the Sun, which for every ascendant owns the house Leo occupies, so Jupiter is a guest in the house lord's own sign. The tradition reads that as comfortable, and it makes the condition of the Sun in a given chart the thing that decides how much of the offer the house can actually take up.
What no table can supply is the dasha. A transit reaches the ground in proportion to the period a chart is running, which is why the same Leo year is loud in one life and silent in another. That layer is Kaal Imprint, which computes a full chart and answers with dates.
Method
Sign ingress dates are computed from Swiss Ephemeris positions under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa by PVRN Rao, scanned daily and refined to the hour. The same computation produced the Saturn in Aries 2027 hub and the Jupiter 2028 pages.
Date correction (published 21 September 2026, for changes made 11 September)
Three dates on this page were one day late when it was first published on 27 August 2026. The first version read the Leo to Virgo crossings from a daily grid sampled at midnight UT, which reports the first whole day on which the new sign holds. Jupiter crosses 150 degrees at 15:00 IST on 18 November 2027, at 19:00 IST on 8 March 2028 and at 15:00 IST on 17 July 2028, so the original readings of 19 November, 9 March and 18 July each named the following day.
What changed. The three crossing dates, corrected on 11 September and now stated with the hour. The 19 June 2027 Cancer to Leo ingress was right as filed and is unchanged. The split-run structure and the reading are unaffected.
Why this note is dated later than the fix. The correction to the dates went live on 11 September. This note explaining it did not, because the script that inserted it searched for a heading this page does not use and reported success without checking that anything had been written. The dates have been right for ten days and the disclosure has not. Both are now on the page, and the gap is recorded here instead of being quietly closed.

On 19 June 2027 under the True Pushya Paksha ayanamsa, ending the exaltation in Cancer that began 27 May 2026. Sites using other ayanamsas will print dates that differ by days to weeks, which is a settings difference rather than an error, and the setting used here is stated.
How long does Jupiter stay in Leo?
Two passes totalling about nine months: 19 June to 18 November 2027, then 8 March to 17 July 2028 after a retrograde return. It is not one continuous year, though most calendars print it as one.
What else changes in mid 2027?
Saturn enters Aries on 23 May 2027, twenty seven days before Jupiter leaves Cancer. Two slow planets changing sign within a month makes May to June 2027 a hinge on most national and market charts.
